Scheme Phasing and Road Closures
The project will be undertaken in three phases – the phased plans and road closures are shown below.
Works planned on A27 in May and June 2023 – ALL works are being undertaken at night time from 8pm to 5.30am
TTRO1 Specific location and extent of required restriction: Adjacent A27 roundabout, Eastbound Full road closure (Lane 1 & 2 closure)

TTRO2 Specific location and extent of required restriction: Adjacent A27 roundabout, Lane 1 and 2 Westbound full road closure

Works planned from week commencing 19th April 2023 for up to 5 days (estimated to be completed on 21st April 2023)
Please note, temporary closure of A259 Westbound, Oving CP, 19th April 2023, A259 Westbound between the Drayton Lane & Bognor Road Roundabouts.
The temporary closure is scheduled to commence on 19th April 2023 for up to 5 days (it is estimated to be completed on 21st April 2023) and is required for the safety of the public and workforce while Mildren Construction Ltd undertakes carriageway surfacing, white lining & the commissioning of traffic signals.
The restriction will be in place overnight only from 20:00 until 05:00.

Works planned from week commencing 30th January 2023
- Off peak lane closures Westbound lane 1 and 2 from 09.30 AM – 15.30 PM beginning on the 30th January for 6 weeks.
- Works to include Bus Lay-by construction, Traffic light install, Ducting and street lighting, Drainage and utility diversion works.
Works planned from week commencing 12th December 2022 to April 2023
- Current works will be completed as specified by the 16th December time for embargo – this means we will not be working on the road from 16th December through to 3rd January 2023 and all traffic management will be minimised.
- Lane closures have been requested for week commencing 9th January 2023 until 7th April 2023. This work is weather dependent and may be cancelled at short notice.
- Works early in 2023 will include Bus laybys/Kerbing/Traffic signals/Drainage/Ducting/Street lighting/Surfacing/Road markings and VRS barrier.
Week commencing 23rd November 2022
There will be lane closures in place on both east and west bound A259 over night during w/c 23rd November 2022. This work is weather dependant and may be cancelled at short notice.
Week commencing 31st October 2022
We are working nights all til Friday 4th November with lane closures east and westbound on the A259 Bognor Road. The lane closures will be in effect between 21.00 until 05.00 when we are carrying out surfacing and ducting installation.
Week commencing 24th October 2022
Please note the lane closure overnight on 24th October. Lane 1 A259 Eastbound will be shut between 20.00 – 05.00 AM.
Week commencing 19th September 2022
The Eastbound Road closure on the A259 is going ahead as planned on the 22nd September from 20.00 to 05.00 on 23rd September.
